Desert Flower - Rose This Rose came into
being so that I could give flowers to people that would not wilt and die. I can do roses in almost any color. The pattern and "frame" are burned onto solid pieces of walnut. Additional burning is done to give the leaves and stem texture and character and also to enhance the painting method I use. I employ a method of painting called dry-brushing and I build my colors in layers, again to create depth and texture in the plaque. I
felt it was more unique this way than just simply painting the flower on wood. The "frame" of the picture is just an added touch I liked the look of to ground the picture on the plaque. $19.95
