Custom Laptop/Breakfast Tray
This is a one of a kind tray table designed specifically for use with the recliner in this photo. It is an over sized chair for medical patients. There are no trays of any kind to set stuff on while in these chairs hooked up to an IV. This tray was created to fill that need. While I was at it, I decided to add photos to put under a high gloss sealant. The wood being sealed was one of the requirements to keep it at the doctor’s office. As I was picking photos to place I decided to do a touch of added creativity by airbrushing some ambient color behind some of the photos to tie them together.

This tray is 41 inches across and about 10 inches wide. It had to rest securely on both arms of the chair. The photos are mine, taken over the last year. It can be customized with any photos you send. The panel is recessed into the edge pieces for security and stability.

This piece would go for $60 due to it’s size. The tray is made from furniture grade plywood for the center board and edged/framed with poplar (it’s harder than pine and paints more nicely). The wood has been primered, painted black, sealed with laquer, the pictures applied and then the high gloss sealant on the interior of the frame to cover the photos.
